"One of the things I love most about the incredible world of hairdressing is the amazing talent I’m surrounded by and that I have the honor of learning from other creative professionals. I’ve been in the hairdressing business for 52 years and I’m always committed to learning more techniques that I can bring to our local community. Whether I’m styling a new cut for a client or working to bring creativity in hair to the Big Sur Fashion show, I love being on the “cutting edge” of our profession.
I recently attended a class offered by an icon in the business, Sharon Blaine from Australia. She is a multi-award-winning stylist and educator with 54 years in the business. She brought with her a panel of 4 other presenters who are also recognized as leaders in the industry.
I was surrounded by these talented creatives from all over the country. including several from the Hollywood movie and TV scene. We all gathered to improve our skills in the world of avant-garde hair styling.
Sharon was gracious and charming during her presentation and shared with us her tips, tricks, and valuable behind-the-scenes technical information that we can use to create styles for events from those like Dancing with the Stars to editorial, fashion and award show presentations.
The passion I have for this creative process drives me every day. My motto: NEVER STOP LEARNING!

"March Hair is a small but beautiful salon. The staff there is professional, warm and extremely talented. This salon is everything that a salon should be. Most importantly, the staff can really cut hair. Monica is amazing. I actually went to a different salon and was so disappointed. Had to go to Monica to fix it and she did a wonderful job. This salon has been voted best salon in Carmel by the Carmel Pine Cone for two years in a row. And it deserves it. They know what they are doing here and it shows in the overall presence of the shop. If you are considering a salon in the area, consider March Hair. It's the best. DO NOT confuse this with the other Aveda salon in Carmel. You will be sadly disappointed if you do."
